training to be Person-Centred therapists using Heuristic Enquiry. I thoroughly enjoyed do this research despite it being challenging work. I am currently in the process of getting it published in a leading Person-Centred Journal.

In part of my commitment to support trans and non-binary people I set up a peer support group for trans and non-binary trainee therapists/counsellors across the UK and Ireland. I ran this for 4 years and have recently handed it over to upcoming trainees. If you are a trainee and interested in joining please email transtraineetherapists@gmail.com

Outside of being a therapist I am also interested in movement, crafts, meditation, fermenting and I attend Quaker meetings regularly.

I am also a part of Person-Centred Online and can be found on the Pink Therapy directory of GSRD therapists.

About Me

I am a queer, trans, non-binary, genderfluid man. Being a Person-Centred therapist is also an important part of my identity, I don’t just see it as something I am do at work but also informs my whole way of being. On learning about the Person-Centred approach, I found it incredibly affirming. As my supervisors says, ‘we do not become person-centred but discover that we are so’ and I couldn’t agree more. As part of my continued pursuit to understand my myself and this approach I co-run an encounter group through the Person-Centred Association.

I recently completed a research based MSc in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Applications from the Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University. My research looked at the experiences of trans and non-binary people
